American Airlines will commence the seasonal connection between Athens and Philadelphia, as of May 6.

Flights will be offered on a daily basis with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, with 27 Business Class seats, 259 Economy Class seats and an individual entertainment in-flight system for every passenger. In addition, this specific type of aircraft, will offer 238 more seats on a weekly basis in comparison to the A330-200 aircraft that was used in 2015.

Departing from Philadelphia – the company’s most important hub in the U.S. – passengers will have the opportunity to fly within a network of 160 destinations in the U.S., Canada, South America and the Caribbean.

Ioanna Papadopoulou, Communications and Marketing Director of Athens International Airport, welcomed the recommencement of the American Airlines flights in Athens and said: “The activity of American Airlines in the Athens-Philadelphia itinerary is very important, as this connection is of strategic significance for our market. On one hand, it serves the high demands of the passengers from and towards the U.S.; on the other hand, it offers the possibility to connect with a significant number of international destinations towards North and South America, therefore boosting even more the Athenian network.”
