The popular and acclaimed Greek singer and songwriter Lavrendis Mahairitsas arrived in New York for a unique concert in support of AKTINA FM and AKTINA TV. The concert took place on Friday, November 6 at Hunter College’s historic theater Kaye Playhouse in Manhattan. After a very successful concert, news has been spreading on social media with many congratulatory comments and compliments to AKTINA, Lavrendis Mahairitsas and Greek singer Miltos Paschalidis who also participated in the concert.

Referring to the success of the concert, Elena Maroulleti, producer and founder of AKTINA and CYPRECO, expressed her most sincere thanks to the artists and AKTINA’s distinguished audience, who filled the theater and enjoyed a special Greek Musical Journey. “The greatest pleasure for us is to see the joy and satisfaction on the faces of the shows’ attendees and of course to hear their positive comments,” he said.

Lavrendis Mahairitsas connected with the audience throughout the concert and his love for the Greek Diaspora was evident from the first moment he appeared on stage. Furthermore, Miltos Pashalidis, who performed in the U.S. for the first time, thanked Lavrendis Mahairitsas and Elena Maroulleti for the honor of being a part of the concert. Mahairitsas then opened his show with the unique and timeless song “The Boxer” by Paul Simon.

The concert was also attended by New York City Councilor Kostas Konstantinidis who congratulated AKTINA and CYPRECO for co-organizing the concert, the producer and founder Elena Maroulleti and all the performers. Furthermore, he honored Lavrendis Mahairitsas with a distinction from the City Council of New York in recognition of his valuable contribution to the Greek Diaspora through AKTINA and his career in the Greek music scene.
