Video: Greek Americans Give Warm Welcome to PM Tsipras in NYC (and Take Countless Selfies)

Alexis_Tsipras_Greek_American_NYCPrime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, attended a reception at the Greek consulate in New York and met with many Greek Americans. The crowd gave him a warm welcome and the PM listened to their suggestions about Greece as well as take countless selfies with them.

Entering the consulate the PM also said that he is happy with the results of his trip to New York.

After the reception the Greek PM attended a dinner hosted by the head of the Greek Permanent Mission to the UN, Ambassador Aikaterini Boura. The dinner was also attended by a few prospective investors who eye the Greek crisis as an opportunity. They said that they have to feel comfortable and safe to invest in Greece.

“Even today we don’t feel that Greece is 100% safe for investments,” a representative of a well known fund said. “There is still fear that ownership in Greece might be taken away by the state at some point,” the same source said.

“We believe that PM Tsipras can change this, but it will take a lot of work and action, not just words.”
