Greek-American Athlete Dean Karnazes to Receive Paradigm Award

dean-karnazesGreek-American ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes, the man who broke all the limits of human endurance and has been featured on TIME magazine’s list of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” will receive the Paradigm Award of the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation, this year.

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works with the financial support of Greek Diaspora members. Its founder and president is Christos Tomaras. The organization is dedicated to promoting education and leadership, recognizing and honoring exceptional undergraduate students of Hellenic descent.

The Paradigm Award celebrates the lifelong achievements of distinguished Greek-Americans whose career and accomplishments are a testimony to the Foundation’s mission and who serves as an example for younger generations. Former recipients include: Executive Vice President & Chief Creative Officer at Fidelity Investments James Speros, as well as writer, director and producer Alexander Payne.

As an athlete Dean Karnazes has always pushed the limits. Some of his accomplishments include a 350-mile continuous run, a run across the Sahara Desert and a marathon run in the South Pole. One of his most famous quotes is “Run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must; just never give up.”
