Greek Pianist Captivates New York Audience

eleonora-apostolidiA young Greek pianist from Preveza, northwestern Greece, who traveled to the U.S. in order to continue her piano studies has captivated the American audience and managed to set herself apart from her peers.

The city of Preveza and the Municipal Conservatory of Preveza “Spyros Dimas” felt particularly proud of Eleonora Apostolidi, their “golden girl,” who went from studying piano at the local Conservatory, to winning the Gold Medal at the International Young Gifted Musicians Festival “Passion of Music 2015” of the American Association for Development of the Gifted and Talented.

The young Greek pianist from Preveza made sure that her performance would not be forgotten and won the first prize and Gold medal against her peers from Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and America.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, March 8, 2015, where the competition winners will participate in a concert in their honor.
