Everybody seems to be taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, from celebrities to politicians and now we have spotted the first video of a Greek grandmother who calls the “challenge” silly, but does it anyway because it is for a good cause.
Although she seemed terrified, and even asked Holy Mary to protect her before she took the ice, the Greek ‘yiayia’ from Atlanta, Georgia, definitely loved the part of nominating other people to take the challenge.
She called out almost all her family, including cousins in Greece, her grandkids, and her sister, for whom she said “you might be disabled but you have to do this.”
She also nominated her American friends to complete the challenge and raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s Disease!

The contest requests subjects to have a bucket of ice water drenched over their head and challenge others to do so within twenty-four hours, or make a donation to the fight against ALS.
President and CEO of the ALS Association Barbara Newhouse said the campaigns results are phenomenal.
“We have never seen anything like this in the history of the disease… We couldn’t be more thrilled with the level of compassion, generosity and sense of humor that people are exhibiting as they take part in this impactful viral initiative.”
