US Couple Names Child After Greek Island

US Couple Names Child After Greek IslandA US couple has decided to name their 11-year-old son “Chios.” This will be the child’s second name and it was given to him in order to honor the Greek island where he was conceived.

The Perry family had been having problems conceiving for more than 12 years. Finally, almost 12 years ago, they visited the Greek island of Chios and a miracle happened. Their son was born 9 months later.

The Greek island of Chios is located in the Aegean Sea near the Turkish boarders. It is a large island full of tourist attraction and amazing beaches. One of its most notable sites is the 11th century Nea Moni monastery, which is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage, as well as the medieval villages that are scattered on the island.
