Memories, colors and traditions of Hellenism were brought to life through Eleftheria Arvanitaki’s concert in the famous Carnegie Hall in New York.

The Greek singer appeared on the main stage and managed to fill 2,804 seats, enchanting the audience with her performance.

She performed some of her most famous songs, as well as songs from well-known composers. Armenian composer and performer, Ara Dinkjian was present on stage for most of the performance.

“It was a surprise. A magical evening filled with emotion, love and a full Carnegie Hall,” Elefeftheria Arvanitaki said after her concert adding: “It was a night I will never forget, full of deep feelings.”

As described in the official Carnegie Hall program: Arvanitaki is one of today’s most talented Greek singers, who has a unique gift for both rebetiko (a genre of folk music popular with refugees from Asia Minor in the early 20th century) and contemporary Greek music. With the distinct ability to bring together disparate music styles, her voice has a clarity and emotional depth that registers with anyone who hears it. One of the most talented Greek singers who has the unique gift of singing traditional and contemporary music.

Archbishop of America, Demetrios, was part of the audience, as well as the diplomatic and consular authorities of Greece and Cyprus, officials of municipal services in New York, executive members from Greek-American bodies, and members of the Armenian and Jewish community.
