In its announcement the American Jewish Committee (AJC) condemned the double murder of the Golden Dawn members in Neo Irakleio, Athens, Greece, on Nov 1, and the serious injuring of a third person.
“In a democratic society for the citizens to take the law into their own hands is clearly condemnable,” stated David A. Harris, President and C.E.O. of the National Jewish Democratic Council. “Even though we strongly disagree with neo-Nazi ideology and the tactics of Golden Dawn, we express our disapproval towards those who proceed to murder,” is noted in the announcement of the AJC.
The American Jewish Committee visits Greece very often, and keeps a constant communication with the Greek authorities and cooperates with American-Greek organizations and the Jewish community in Greece, concludes the announcement.
At the same time, a State Department official declared–the USA strongly condemn the killings of the two Golden Dawn members and express their condolences to the families of the victims.
