Washington Post Praise For Northern Greece

voria elladaThe American newspaper Washington Post published a long article on northern Greece, under the title Touring Northern Greece, From an Old Tobacco port to the Lakes of Prespes National Park” on Sept. 13.

The author Nick Danforth, a Ph.D candidate in Middle Eastern history at Georgetown University, describes in his article the journey he had in Greece, from Kavala to the National Park in Prespes, a landscape that, according to his words, strongly reminiscent of the Alps.

“Northern Greece is ideal for the undecided: It’s the perfect place for lounging on the sun-soaked beaches of the Aegean by day and shivering in the rain-soaked mountains of the Balkans by night,” Danforth wrote in his article.

Famed British travel writer Lawrence Durrell claimed in his book Prospero’s Cell that while every country offers you discovery, “Greece offers you something harder — the discovery of yourself,” as written in the newspaper.
