Kicking off NY Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Greek-American Fashion Week brings together a lot of talented Greek-Americans of the fashion industry.
The main runway show of the event took place at the studio 450 in New York City on Friday September 5th. Greek American Fashion week opened with a reception on September 4th and runs until September 8th.
Greek American Fashion Week is a week of fashion events that lead up to the featured Greek American Runway Event showcasing Spring/Summer 2014 at Studio450 in Manhattan. In addition to the runway show, the week includes a high-end silent auction, a cocktail party, an after party at Meli Restaurant, as well as a series of fashion events.
The event was started initially by Maria and Taso Pardalis in 2012, as a platform to showcase Greek American designers and discover raw, new talent with the intention of getting them in front of buyers, and other industry professionals, to help them advance their careers; many Greeks from the fashion/entertainment industries are coming together to make that happen.
This year Greek American Fashion Week is hosted by the Greek America Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, that is creating a scholarship fund to support fashion and design students in North America that are of Greek descent.
