Greek Goods Exports To U.S. Grow

greek-exportsGood news for those who think that Greeceā€™s exports to the US are limited to olive oil, feta and yogurt. Oil pipes, razor blades and olives are just few examples of the long list of products that Greece exports to the United States.

According to statistics, the Transatlantic exports of Greek products were particularly increased during the last three years. Americans seem have a preference in the fish and seafood products coming from the Greek waters.

A product that makes quite a hit in the U.S. market is sea bass, making Greece the main foreign supplier of the commodity for America. As stated in the Greek Embassy in Washingtonā€™s Bureau of Economic and Commercial Affairsā€™ report, sea bass and sea bream from Greece have become more and more popular at the American market for their high quality and affordable price.

One more exportable Greek product that has dominated the American market is olives for which Greece is the main supplier with a market share that reaches 72 percent. Greek olives are growing in recognition among American consumers.

Despite the strong competition from the other Mediterranean countries, the exports of Greek olives brought in 58.08 million euros in the last years and yet this product has a great potential of growing its numbers.

In addition, Greece performs really well at exports concerning dairy products such as a range of cheese types made from sheep or cow milk. More precisely, our country ranks third in the US dairy products supplies.

However, pipes for oil and natural gas are, among all the made-in-Greece products, the ones that make the greater success in the US. In 2012, these pipes brought to Greece more than 115 million euros, while Greece then had Ā the 29.2 percent of the market share in pipes made of iron and copper.

Razor blades and minerals such as vermiculite also conquer the American market and make their part in the list of Greek products mostly preferred by American consumers and constructors.
