Lazopoulos’ USA Tour Cancelled

LazopoulosLakis Lazopoulos’ performances in the U.S. and Canada have been cancelled. The decision to cancel the performances, Sorry I’m Greek, was taken on June 6 and about a week before the start of the tour, while Dimitris Kantzoglou, executive counselor of  Globe Entertainment, said that the cancellation has to do with the process of issuing visas to artists from the U.S. Embassy in Athens.

The production of the tour, according to the National Herald, had been undertaken by Globe Entertainment, headquartered in Long Island City and six shows were scheduled for New York, Atlantic City, Chicago, Toronto, Boston and Montreal, as well as a performance to boost the Greek School, Plato, in Brooklyn.

Kantzoglou pointed out that in the three decades he has been dealing with the production of concerts and performances, this is the first time he’s been forced to cancel a tour.

As he noted, the cost of the cancellation is great since the decision was taken a week before the tour was supposed to start, and Globe Entertainment is going to bear it.

Asked whether people who have already paid for their tickets will be compensated, he stated that “Those who bought their tickets online will receive a refund immediately.”

“Those who have purchased their tickets from different centers can contact the centers and note that it might take longer up to a week,” Kantzoglou said.
