Greek-American Students 1st Hellas Visit

panhellenic scholraship fThe Pan-Hellenic Scholarship Foundation seated in Chicago, announced that 20 students have been chosen to travel to Greece for the first time this summer to participate in the program Hellenic Birthright.

The students come from across the United States and will be visiting Greece for five weeks, from June 17 to July 22. The Foundation promises an unforgettable journey to the students who have never seen their ancestral homeland before.

Hellenic Birthright was first launched in 2012, in collaboration with Anatolia College and their School of Higher Studies, the American College of Thessaloniki in northern Greece.

This cultural and educational program was created to offer a unique opportunity to the Greek-American youth, a chance to experience first-hand the land of their forefathers through uniquely tailored courses and group excursions blending the rich cultural tapestry of ancient and modern Greece.

In addition to the experience of a lifetime, the sponsored students will also earn up to four transferable college credits while being taught by a highly qualified faculty, according to the Pan-Hellenic Scholarship Foundation’s website.

The Hellenic Birthright program promises for 2013 to be an unforgettable journey as it was for the Foundation’s inaugural group in summer 2012.

Inscriptions and updates for students interested can be read at greekscolarships.net. The 2012 participants’ journal entries, in which they describe their feelings and experiences in detail, can also be found on the same blog. The foundation will be posting live updates directly from Greece throughout the five-week program on its blog, on Facebook and twitter.
