Disneyland: Two Days Left for ‘Opa’ Greek Celebration

opa982349It’s a Greek world after all.
A musical group actually sang that at the Disneyland Resort this weekend for “Opa! A Celebration of Greece.”
The event continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Monday, May 26-27,
Locations are the small world mall at Disneyland Park and Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure.
Festivities include performances by community groups, walk-around characters, handouts such as paper laurel wreathes and specialty foods.
In Disneyland Park, Hercules has taken over the space usually occupied by Scottish princess Merida from “Brave” for a meet-and greet and games of skill. The games, archery and a beanbag toss, are the same in ancient Greece and they are in medieval Scotland.
There’s more going on at Paradise Pier, in the dining area next to Goofy’s Sky School.
Mickey Mouse, wearing a fustanella and shoes with pom-poms, poses for photos in both parks. The lines are shorter in California Adventure.
