Acclaimed Greek composer Giannis Spanos embraced with his music nostalgic moments and different generations of the Greek Diaspora in a unique concert held in New York in support of the Hellenic-American organization, which offers help to vulnerable groups of Greeks.
The famous composer played memorable compositions sang by Chryssoula Stefanaki in the packed auditorium of Queensborough Community College, on April 13. The concert was organized by the Foundation for Support of Greece (Hellenic Relief Foundation) where all the proceeds of the concert were distributed.
It was Spanos’ first visit to the United States and as he said, the first time to perform a concert accompanied only by piano and vocals, highlighting Stefanaki’s excellent performance.
Spanos and Stefanaki are going to give two more concerts, one in Boston on April 19, and the other in Houston on April 21.
