N.Y. Greek School Gets Eco Board Game

Planet_BookAn effective way to educate children and schools about the need to protect the environment, was presented at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, organized by KEAN – Cell of Alternative Youth Activities – a non-governmental organization based in Athens, associated with the UN Department of Public Information (DPI).

It is involved with the promotion of the environmental awareness through education. The group created the first educational board game for environmental and climate changes, which has been shared by 700 schools in Greece, while 26,000 other schools have been informed. KEAN is continuing this activity with its journey to the U.S.  to share the game in schools located in polluted areas.

“We believe that the proper education from an early age is a way in which people can change, facing the climate change crisis, since young people should be aware of the environment and the planet. Both young and adults were always familiarized with the board games. KEAN thought of creating a mean which combines education and entertainment, something reflected in students’ minds,” Stavros Milionis, Founder and President of KEAN. said.
