How Light Will Change our Lives in 2013 and the Years to Come

In 2013 and the years to come applications of light will change our lives in ways we have never imagined. Two of the most prominent scientists in the field, Dr. Donald Heller and Dr. John Walling talk exclusively to Greek Reporter about the future applications of light.

“I think that light will be one of the most important factors that will change our lives in the future.” said Dr. Heller the CEO of Light Age Inc, one of the pioneers in advanced LASER technology applications.

“For many years to come certainly the next hundred years and perhaps the next thousand year light is going to be the dominant tool we have for selectively placing energy in exactly the right place and space to influence exactly the most precise entities of our desire, of anything that has come before, and nothing on the horizon will displace that. I would imagine a hundred years from now people will be looking back at the tools we have today much like we look back at electronic tools in 1912. It’s nearly back to the stone age. That’s where we are today. Advances will come, they will permeate all of human existence and particularly they will permeate medicine,” said Dr. Heller.

His colleague and co-founder of  Light Age Inc, Dr. John Walling, stressed the role that photonics will play in future applications of light.

“It’s not just the light age in a sense. It’s the light age coming after the electronics age, and those two getting together it’s called Photonics, principally, and that is  where the power is really going to come. It is for the integration of those two technologies the one just coming and the other having been well established,” said Dr. John Walling.
