Spyropoulos’ X-mas Wishes to Greece

ted spyropoulosU.S. Regional Coordinator of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE), Theodore Spyropoulos, on the opportunity of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, noted that Greeks of the Diaspora will keep taking the initiative on solidarity and on volunteering selfless support to their compatriots who are going through these trying times.

Spyropoulos in confident that Greece will overcome this present crisis and emphasized that: “Greece is the most beautiful country of the world which holds a very heavy weight of responsibility towards all humanity.” He also said that the current Greek crisis exercises a huge influence on Greek-Americans because day after day they read and hear negative things reported by the media throughout the world. “With our cultural heritage and the fact that we are living in a worldwide leading country, as Hellenes-Americans we have to inculcate fundamental values such as love, dialogue, respect to everyone, peace, etc. Let’s try to be the change, ourselves, with optimism and enthusiasm for the future, prudence and wisdom,” Spyropoulos said.

Spyropoulos is known for his longtime valuable contribution to the Greek-American Community and to Hellenism in general.

“I wish that the New Year will bring a new life, a new start, with unity and cooperation for a better world. We, as Greeks, owe it to our past and the future generations,” Spyropoulos said.
