Ten popular songs by famous Greek composer, Mimis Plessas, that remain timely and classical for their lyrics and music, have been newly arranged by Emarel Music, which is an independent label created by New York based jazz vibraphonist Christos Rafalides.
Rafalides’ collaboration with Plessas led to the release of two albums both based on Plessas’ music: Echo, featuring Evi Siamanda on vocals, and the duo recording ,We Two, with Mimis Plessas on the piano and Rafalides on the vibraphone. These two albums were the reason for the creation of Emarel Music.
It started as a platform for distributing Rafalides’ music, but expanded by signing and producing more creative artists with fresh musical ideas.
This collaboration is a musical promotion for Greece. The presentation was attended by many people among whom, foreign diplomats of the United Nations and the Ambassadors of Greece and Cyprus.
