Malliotakis Re-elected in Staten Island

The incumbent Republican Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis was re-elected in Staten Island’s 60th Assembly district

Malliotakis managed to stand out among hundreds of other legislators and politicians. Despite having grown up in the U.S., she is proud of her Greek origin.

Malliotakis is a Republican politician who represents parts of Brooklyn and Staten Island in the New York State Assembly. She is also the only Republican and the first Greek-American woman in history who had the skills and qualifications to be elected to any office in New York City.

Malliotakis is the daughter of  immigrants, who were small business owners. Her mother is from Cuba, who fled her homeland in 1959 to escape the oppression of the newly formed regime of Fidel Castro and her father is from Crete, Greece. Their efforts and strong will to live the American dream, led her parents  to start their own business in New York. Apart from being very dedicated to their daughter, they also managed to pass on to her their entrepreneurial spirit.

Malliotakis was also elected in Bay Ridge excluding Democrat John Mancuso (61,7 % against 38,3 %).
