Dukakis Says Romney No Friend of Greece

Former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, the Democratic Presidential candidate in 1988 and now a professor at Northeastern University in Boston, said Republican candidate Mitt Romney – also a former governor of the state – has a political platform that would not help Greece, according to the Athens News Agency AMNA.

Dukakis, 78, criticized what he said were Romney’s continued negative statements about Greece and the country’s crushing economic crisis.

In a statement to AMNA Dukakis said: “Romney is very weak in foreign affairs policy and nobody knows what he is going to do with Greek affairs or other important nternational matters. It is obvious that he attacks Greece and he is claiming that USA is going the way of Greece unless there is a budgetary balance,” he said.

He added: “In fact, the economic policy Romney follows is exactly the same as European Union’s political techniques, which have already paralyzed the country.”
