Author Releases Greek-Themed Children’s Book

Author Georgia Flamburis has released a new children’s book, How Karis’ Kitten Got Its Name. The story is a sweet tale about a little girl named Karis who visits her Greek Yia Yia to help her pick a name for her kitten.

The book, for ages 4 and above, follows the young girl’s journey from receiving the kitten as a gift from her parents, to wanting Yia Yia’s assistance on what to call her new pet. While Yia Yia bakes a Greek pastry, they come up with the perfect name for Karis’ new kitty. In addition to incorporating Greek culture into the story, it also showcases the relationship between a child and her grandmother as well as the responsibility of having a pet.

The educational book is 34 pages long, with illustrations by Aradhana Pandey. How Karis’ Kitten Got Its Name is available in paperback on Amazon.
