AHEPA, Pancretans Ship Medical Supplies to Greece

The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) is a service organization founded on July 26, 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia. Its mission is to support Greek-American charities, causes, and communities. It works closely with the Greek Orthodox Church.

AHEPA, in cooperation with the Pancretan Association, is bearing the cost of transporting medical and surgical supplies worth more than $ 650,000, donated by the International Orthodox Christian Charities Association to assist Greeks.

The container is only a part of a large quantity of medical supplies, worth more than $1.3 million, offered by the same organization to aid Greek hospitals in Athens and Crete. Medical supplies will soon be given to three public hospitals, Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital, Athens General Children’s Hospital Aglaia Kyriakou, Penteli Children’s Hospital.

The re-elected Supreme President of AHEPA Organization, John Grossomanides said: “There are great needs. We encourage every effort aiming to get any deal of help for our fellow men in Greece. Every donation, however small, helps us fulfill this project. ”
