Greek Chef Cooks Up Authentic Recipes for New Book

Greek food guru and chef Diane Kochilas kicked off a tour to celebrate her homestyle cookbook Country Cooking of Greece

The consulting chef at Pylos in NYC, Axia in NJ and Volos in Toronto, includes more than 250 recipes in the book with everything from lamb to artichokes and eggplants. Colorful and well-captured photos by Vassilis Stenos add to the appetizing appeal of the dishes.

The Country Cooking of Greece tour kicked off October 1 in NYC, and Kochilas heads to Houston on October 6 to sign copies of her cookbook at the very popular Original Greek Festival, celebrating its 46th year. On October 9, she will guest chef at Yia Yia Mary’s in Houston and teach a Greek cooking class in the city’s Central Market. Then, she heads to Austin on October 11 to give the locals some Greek cooking tips.

On her website, which also offers seasonal recipes, Kochilas mentions she is working on a new Greek restaurant project in NYC’s lower Manhattan.
