Remembering the Victims of 9/11, Including 39 Greek-Americans

Of the nearly 3000 people that perished on September 11, 2001 – a day that will not soon be forgotten – 39 were Greek-Americans. Today, 11 years later, the grim memories remain intense, as the pain experience by the families of those unjustly lost, who are nonetheless hoping for a better tomorrow for the entire world.

On the occasion of the 9/11 anniversary, a series of events will be held at “Ground Zero” to honor the memories of those lost, reminding us that being alive is a gift.

Below is the list with the Greek-American victims (some believed to be Greek because of their names) issued by the New York City Coroner’s office and provided to Greek Reporter by Aktina radio.
