Kronos Foods Offers Free Gyros to Help Military Family Charity

For the fourth year, Kronos Gyros & Cafe in Chicago will be offering free gyros, with more than 50 restaurants taking part, asking only that those partaking consider making a donation to the Fisher House Foundation to help military family members.

The deal is available on Aug. 28 and is sponsored by Kronos Foods, which produces Mediterranean specialty items as well as the irresistible Greek treat that’s free for a day.

More than $10,000 was raised the first three years of the charity event which gave people a chance to open their hearts the same way Kronos opened its restaurants, hoping the lure of all-you-can-eat gyros for free would bring some benefits to those in need.

“We are so proud to be entering the fourth year of Kronos Free Gyros Day, where we can partner the popularity of gyros with the importance of giving back to the military and their families,” Howard Eirinberg, President of Kronos Foods,  told a PR Newswire reporter.

“When many are experiencing hard times, we’re thrilled to be able to provide our loyal gyros fans with a free sandwich and we are confident they’ll pay it forward and show their deep gratitude by contributing to our local Fisher House,” he said. Anyone who’s ever had a gyro knows what he’s talking about and will have a chance to show their appreciation and this year help military families as well.
