Fortunately, not everything is going from bad to worse in Greece these days. There are many succesful professionals in every scientific, technical or research field who refuse to leave their home country and keep working on their projects and some are giving ammunition – literally -to their country’s business. Then shipping it elsewhere.
The United Army is reportedly ready to buy ammunition made in Greece for the second time, giving a little boost to the beleaguered economy and one sector. Greek-made ammunition is undergoing a second round of tests in the U.S., and if it passes muster, could prove to be a lucrative contract.
The Americans showed interest in buying type 40L60 ammunition made by the Greek Defense Systems firm. The first contract between the US army and the Greek company was signed in 2009 and included production and supply of 5,000 bullets.
According to tromaktiko blogspot, officials of the Greek company noted that the US Armed Forces ordered more bullets from the Greek Defense Systems firm and hoped that would bring more deals. They said that their products have survived the tough scrutiny of American testing and been shown to be of high quality.
