The 90th AHEPA Supreme Convention took place in Monte Carlo, Las Vegas, NV (July 22- July 28, 2012), with the participation of 500 representatives of AHEPA chapters, Daughters of Penelope, Maids of Athena and Sons of Pericles from all across the USA.
Apostoli Mission head, Konstantinos Dimtsas transmitted the greetings on behalf of Athens Archbishop Ieronymos. During a formal dinner, AHEPA President John Grosomanides handed him a $30,000 check to support the soup kitchens offered to people in need in Greece’s capital and other major cities.
Solidarity and help offered to Greece were the main subjects of discussion during the separate conferences of AHEPA chapters: Daughters of Penelope, Maids of Athena and Sons of Pericles.
Members of the three associations expressed their determination to offer economic and ethical support to their homeland and particularly philanthropic institutions and Church foundations.
Several national matters were discussed thoroughly, especially Greek-Turkish and Turkish-Cypriot issues.
The Greek-American community once again underlined that they are standing by Greece and will never forget and neglect their homeland.
