4-Year-Old Boy of Greek Descent Drowns in Douglas Manor Pool, Queens

The Greek community of the USA feels devastated about the death of young Christos Voulkoulidis. The 4-year-old boy drowned in a relative’s pool early Wednesday evening during a Fourth of July gathering of family and friends, police stated.

Around 6 p.m., police officers arrived at the Beverly Road house in Douglas Manor, Queens. They found the boy of Greek origin unconscious, lying next to the pool after he was pulled out by family members. Voulkoudis was pronounced dead after he was taken to North Shore University Hospital.

Police made clear that there is no criminal suspicion in the incident and described it as “a tragic accident.”

According to local media, the boy lived with his family in nearby Bayside. The Voulkoudis visited the Douglas Manor house to celebrate July 4th national holiday.
