Philip Christopher Declared Honorary Mayor of Kyrenia in the USA

Philip Christopher, president of PSEKA- International Coordinating Committee  “Justice for Cyprus,” was elected honorary mayor of Kyrenia in the United States.

The unanimous vote, as stated in the press release of the city council of Kyrenia, a Turkish-occupied city, took place last Wednesday in Kyrenia but the official ceremony will be held in the near future during Mr Christopher’s visit to Cyprus.

Philip Christopher heard the pleasant news with great excitement and commented that he has always been proud of his descent. “This honor was a surprise to me and has strengthened my will to fight for Cyprus with even greater passion,” adds Mr Christopher saying also that “Kyrenia has always had a special place in my heart.”

Kyrenia’s city council announced that Mr Philip Christopher “has fought for the past 38 years in the USA for Cyprus’ rights, the termination of the Turkish occupation and repatriation of people of Kyrenia. He has spent much time and has worked pretty hard to support Cyprus and inform American people about the Cypriot political problem.”

Members of the council of Kyrenia mentioned also his great financial contribution to PSEKA and described him as “an excellent patriot and humanist, as well as a successful businessman.” Mr Christopher has supported many Cypriot-American institutions and organizations, such as the football team of Pancyprian.
