After several weeks of taking submissions from radio WCBS FM-1011 listeners for Joe Causi’s Best Diner in the Tri-State area, they have finally narrowed it down to ten finalists from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Jersey, Connecticut and Manhattan.
Eight out of ten restaurants of the finalists belong to Greeks. In general, New Jersey has the most diners in the finals, with four entries. But the three diners which received the most submissions came from outside Jersey; Pelham Bay Diner in the Bronx, Bel Aire Diner in Astoria and the Mineola Diner from Long Island.
The Greek-American owners prove in this way that what matters the most is hard work! If you try hard, then you cannot escape recognition. And this finalists list is the best proof and the best exposure, since Joe Causi is a famous New York-based radio DJ.
