"40 Under 40" Honored in New York

40 Greeks under the age of 40 were honored by the Greek America Foundation. “Greeks are able to do many things” was the sloganĀ of the 3-day-long event, which took place April 27-29 in New York.

The 40 Greeks are all successful professionals in every aspect of life and each one of them excels in the business, scientific, social or artistic sector.

The event was established two years ago by the Greek America Foundation in order to honor young leaders who are successful at what they do, and simultaneously make tremendous contributions to their communities and to the world around them.

This year’s 40 are people born in the USA, in Canada and in Greece, who managed to excel through their knowledge in many sectors of financial, social and political life of the country they now live.

Apart from the nomination event, the Foundation organized a National Innovation Conference, so that the attendants of the meeting would be able to present their innovative ideas and create a “communication network” to promote Greek culture.

Peter Economides, a renowned brand strategist and the person in charge for the international campaign “Give Greece a Chance,” said, “As I’ve said before, Greece has a famous brand-name. This initiative is an important step for the young Greek-Americans because they will be connected with their GreekĀ heritage and they will remember who they are and where they come from.”
