Dean and Zoe Pappas donated a generous amount of money to the Richard Stockton College in Galloway, New Jersey to support Hellenic studies abroad and (mostly) in the USA. They intend to establish a reserve fund following the donation in order to contribute in the financing of the visiting scholars program at the College.
This donation may be the highest, or at least one of the highest, offered to the American University by someone of Greek origin. The reserve fund of the College now amounts to 20 million dollars.
This is not the first time that the Greek couple donated to the Center for the Hellenic Studies; they have already offered smaller amounts of money to the academic society. Almost any time the Center needs money to grant scholarships to students, they willingly put their hand in their pockets.
