John Calamos Sets Priorities as New Chairman of National Hellenic Museum

John Calamos spoke exclusively to Greek Reporter about his priorities as the new head of the National Hellenic Museum.

Calamos recently assumed the position of the Chairman of the National Hellenic Museum following his involvement with the organization. His involvement, he says, is to bring awareness to America of the contributions of Greek-Americans to the country and the world.

Calamos, a son of Greek immigrants, made a fortune in the financial industry and is currently the CEO and chairman of Calamos Investments.

Talking about the initiatives that he wants to promote at the National Hellenic Museum, he stressed that his goal is to educate young Greek-Americans about their heritage and make them feel proud.

Also, under his leadership, the successful Greek-American wants to make the museum a national destination.

“I am excited to help take the museum to the next level which is to make it a national landmark and not just a museum for Chicago’s Greektown,” says the new Chairman in his interview. Watch the full interview below:
