John Anastasiadis Designs Dream BlackBerry Mobile Phone

Canadian RIM may be facing serious problems lately as far as its market share is concerned; however, it could not let down all of its committed fans around the world, and so presented them with a new Dream Blackberry mobile phone to drive their imagination.

The new BlackBerry concept belongs to Greek-born John Anastasiadis from New Jersey, and has become so popular among enthusiasts for its “futuristic” capacities, that CrackBerry.com requested him to further develop the design.

•    Wrap around screen. This allows you to incorporate soft-keys on the underside for gaming, navigation, etc.
•    The asymmetrical shape allows you to know the orientation of the phone (while holding) without having to look at it.
•    There is one hard button that serves multiple functions (screen lock, picture taking, etc.)
•    The phone has some artificial intelligence that can predict if you intended a command. For example, sometimes while using an iPhone it will slip out of my hand, causing me to grab for it any which way I can, thus hitting all sorts of buttons on the screen.
•    The front and back cameras are behind the screen. The screen will illuminate to act as the flash.

John Anastasiadis was inspired by the passionate Blackberry fans and decided to send his concept to the Tell us/Show us What Your Dream BlackBerry Would Look Like creativity contest that would gather different ideas for what an ideal phone would be like.

The CrackBerry community has motivated its users to put forth their vision many times in the past, and now Anastasiadis employed his own creativity to produce an innovative mobile phone with already existing high technology.

Anastasiadis, who holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design and Master of Business Administration-Concentration in Marketing from the Drexel University-LeBow College of Business in Philadelphia, has marketed hundreds of internationally recognized consumer products to date.

Being a member of the Industrial Design Society of America, Anastasiadis’ work has been formally recognized with a Gran Prize from the World Traffic Safety Design Competition in 1997, while he has also worked as a Visiting Adjunct Professor for Industrial Design at Monclair State University, NJ.

John Anastasiadis is also known for his creative design of all of Deukalion T-shirts, a brand for Greeks active in Canada and the US.
