Concert Tribute to Odysseus Elytis in Astoria

The Greek Cultural Centre is organizing a concert tribute to the Greek writer Odysseus Elytis, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1979.

During the concert, special excerpts from ‘Axion Esti’ will be set to music by Mikis Theodorakis, and songs by other Greek composers who have been inspired by the great poet including Manos Hatzidakis, M. Loizos, S. Xarhakos, J. Markopoulos, N. Mauroudis, and others will be performed.

Vassilis Lekkas will be also there for one performance.
