Traffic in Greek-owned grocery stores, sweet stores, and gift shops in Astoria and other areas in New York, has considerably increased over the past week.
Store owners believe that this will be the case over the next week too, as Greek – Americans insist on traditions and try to have everything on their Christmas and New Year’s table.
At the same time they stress that this year they are favored by the weather conditions and the fact that celebrations coincide with the weekend.
