Amorgos Foundation in New York Honors Greek Cultural Work

The 43rd annual celebration of Amorgos Foundation in New York was held at Terrace on the Park, Queens, with over 300 attendees.

During the event, Theologitis couple and Eleftheria Gavala were honored for their cultural work, contributing to the promotion and improvement of the ‘Amorgos Foundation’.

This foundation tries to bring closer everyone who comes from Amorgos Island and Small Cyclades, such as Donousa, Koufonisia,Schinousa and Iraklia.

The main purpose of the ‘Amorgos Foundation’ is to attract more members to join the foundation as well as young people.

The central offices of the foundation are located on 26-03 23th Avenue, in Astoria, where the foundation continues to provide social and humanitarian work.

In particular, the members of the foundation are going to send school items, such as bags and books to the students of Amorgos, Donousa, Koufonisia, Schinousa and Iraklia.

Despite the fact that the foundation consists of 100 members, it provides aid to the church, Greek schools and children when needed.

Greek Ambassador to New York, Agi Mpalta praised the humanitarian work of the ‘Amorgos Foundation’, congratulating the three honored guests.
