Top Greek TV Chef and Author Opens Restaurant in New York

Maria Loi, cookbook author and one of Greece’s top culinary talents and media entrepreneurs, announces the opening of her newest Greek restaurant and first in New York, Loi. Featuring the rich flavors of authentic Greek cuisine, Loi will bring to life some of Maria Loi’s best and signature dishes, from her great grandmother Loi. The restaurant officially opened on October 21 in the Upper West Side at 208 West 70th Street (between Amsterdam and West End Avenues).

“Loi will offer an original twist to Greek dining for brunch, lunch, cocktails and dinner,” says Maria Loi, who was recently appointed the International Ambassador of Greek Gastronomy for the renowned Chef’s Club of Greece. “The restaurant will share many of the Loi family recipes to traditional Greek dining, which have been passed down from my great grandmother. Loi is about real food, cooked with Greek olive oil and using authentic and fresh ingredients. It is about healthy and delicious dining that brings family and friends together.”

Loi is “Athenian Style,” and its decor features a white brushed beach wood bar and lounge, and wine caves with large clear glass doors. The highlights in the main dining room are the murals showcasing photos of breathtaking, panoramic views of the Corinthian Gulf and Nafpaktos, taken right outside of Maria Loi’s home in Greece. The restaurant seats 250 people and can accommodate up to 400 guests for private events. Private dining options include – the special chef’s dining room with a view of the kitchen, a wine room and the Santorini room that features a private bar.

The kitchen is open Monday-Friday, 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm and Saturday & Sunday, 11:00 am – 11:00 pm. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. For more information about the restaurant, visit www.restaurantloi.com. For reservations: (212) 875-8600
