Yoplait Greek Yogurt to Fight Hunger

Yoplait Greek4Good is a new smartphone application designed by the dairy company to c its Greek yogurt and give the opportunity to consumers to help in the fight against hunger.

The application is based on the idea of it interacting with Yoplait Greek yogurt cups. In this way, Greek yogurt lovers can decode messages by simply downloading the free application to their smartphone on www.Greek4Good.com, holding up their phone to the Greek4Good image, and watching the Greek letters turn into English letters and figures animated on screen.

Consumers in Chicago and New York will experience augmented reality views on billboards and other postings around their cities.

For every message decoded, one point will be awarded to a Feeding America food bank. Feeding America is the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity, with more than 200 member food banks serving all 50 states.

“Utilizing a unique interactive application that brings our product to life, we know the Greek4Good program will entertain users while allowing them to join us for a good cause.” says Allison Curran, Yoplait Greek associate marketing manager at General Mills.

The program will be completed by December 3, 2011. Afterwards, the food bank with the most points will receive a $25,000 donation provided by Yoplait Greek in partnership with Feeding America.
