Toledo Church Hosts 41st Annual Greek American Festival

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio will host their 41st annual Greek-American Festival starting September 9.

 

This year’s festival features a memorial service Sunday marking the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Aristotle Damaskos and the Rev. Chris Hadgigeorge. Remarks will be delivered by local dignitaries, and members of the American Legion, Chris Dunberger Post No. 537 will fire a 21 gun salute and play taps.

 

Throughout the weekend, there will be cooking demonstrations and tours of the church. The nationally known Levendes will provide musical entertainment. All groups within the Hellenic Dance Company, including the Ellinopedia (ages 3-6), the Asteria (ages 7-9), Olympians (ages 10-13) and Hellenic Dancers (teens and adults), will perform Greek folk dances in traditional costume.
