"Piste" Credit Fund Offers Greek-American Children Aid for Ionian Village Summer Camp

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America located in the picturesque Ionian Village, celebrates 40 years of its establishment. Every summer, the Orthodox Archdiocese organizes summer camps in Ionian Village.

This summer, 350 Greek-American children visit the camp. Among them, 54 had the opportunity to take a scholarship, otherwise this trip would not be possible. According to the Head of Ionian Village, Jason Roll, due to the financial crisis, many children cannot afford the costs of traveling and because of the credit fund “Piste” (Faith), another chance has been given to them.

The head of the Credit Fund Maria Alguin, noted that Ionian Village has been carrying out a unique program. Children are becoming familiar with their Greek heritage and identity because of Ionian Village.

The Credit Fund announced that it will offer scholarships to graduates of Greek schools, to contribute to their education.
