News reports on the front page of daily newspapers and extensive comments on radio and in particular, television news contained the statements of President Barack Obama regarding Greece and the Greek economic crisis, that he stated in a press conference along with Angela Merkel in Washington.

Titles such as ”Greece should not go bankrupt”, “Support in Greece right now”, and “The U.S. will work for a solution to the Greek problem” dominated the press, as well as popular websites where the predictions of President Obama on Greece’s situation are expressed. He stated that: ”Greece is attacked by speculators”.

Emphasis is given to analysts, on the cues of President Obama on the need for crisis management in the eurozone for the maintenance of the World Financial System, which still remains vulnerable.

The conclusion drawn from the press was that the President stressed that Greece expects to be supported by other countries of the Eurozone and that there should be a stronger motivation for Greece to get a new aid package.

At this point, Barack Obama and Angela Merkel agreed to support Greece in order to cope with its difficult situation.
