New Council of Pan-Macedonian Association Elected

 

Konstantinos Chatzistefanidis from New York was elected President of the Pan-Macedonian Association of USA, in the 65th council which was held in Wooster, Massachusetts, on May 28th. Mr. Chatzistefanidis won over his co-candidate and ex-president of the Pan-Macedonian Association, Antonis Papadopoulos.

As mentioned in New York’s National Herald, 52 members of the Association voted. Mr. Chatzistefanidis got 28 votes, Mr.Papadopoulos received 22 votes, and there were 2 blank ones. Mr. Chatzistefanidis has worked as Treasurer of the Association over the past 8 years.

The rest of the council is composed of the following members: Panagiotis Mpaltatzis as Vice President, Dimitris Chatzis as Secretary, Sophia Stroumpakis as Secretary, Dimitrios Tassopoulos as Secretary Assistant.

Across the regions, the governors elected were the following: Roula Mitkonis, Iordanis Alexiadis, Stathis Pilidis, Sophia Meskou, Christos Papadimas, Maria Chatzinakou, Ioannis Kostoulas, and Nikos Komninos.

The dinner given at the Greek restaurant Coral, in Wooster was attended by almost 300 people, including the Archbishop Dimitrios, the Metropolitan Bishop Methodios, the Consul General Ilias Fotopoulos, the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, Tim Murray and of Greek descent sheriff Ilias Evaggelidis, as well as the coordinator of Greek Education George Vlikidis.
