Proud Greeks of Boston March in Independence Day Parade

The Greek Community of New England has had its department of lightly-armed Greek soldiers since 1998. According to an announcement of New York’s National Herald, the new Greek-Americans that are members in it give every year, a different color and an intense pulse in Boston’s parade. They also have taken part in the parades of other cities of the U.S.A and Canada, like the parades in Philadelphia, Detroit, Florida, New York and Montreal. The department’s members are between 18 and 23 Greek- American men, who voluntarily gather every week and under the instructions of Dimitris Paspalis, former president of the Greek Federation, practice the gait and dances. The lightly-armed Greek soldiers will take part in this year’s parade in Boston, Friday, April 8th.
