The Stavros Niarchos Foundation honors and supports the Greek Film Festival in New York. The foundation has offered two donations to the Festival, in the amount of $25,000 each. James Di Metro, President of the Festival thanked the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for its financial and moral support. The director of the Festival, Stamatis Gikas stated that the money that the foundation received in former years, was not enough to cover the their needs, especially if it is taken into consideration that the realization of the festival costs $75,000 to $100,000.
