FBI Honors 11 Greek Officers at U.S. Embassy, Athens

Eleven Greek officers, both men and women, received cooperation awards by the FBI during a ceremony taking place in the house of the American ambassador. The American embassy in Athens honored today eleven members of the Hellenic police.  The police took part in a mission searching for three kidnapped children by their own fathers in a region near Los Angeles in 2008. The three boys, two brothers and their cousin -13, 15 and 12-years-old- were found Hague, Holland, on May 2010 after extensive researches by the Hellenic police, as stated by the American Ambassador in Athens, William Smith. Greek authorities cooperated with the American FBI and with Holland authorities for the localization of George, John and Sila- naturalized American citizens of Armenian origins. The court had previously awarded custody to the children’s mothers.
