The Board of Directors of the Argonauts Association of Magnisia organized the Annual Holocaust Remembrance. This is in commemoration for the Jewish Greek victims of the Nazi regime during the German occupation, and to honor their heroic saviors. The event is under the auspices of the Ambassador of Greece to New York Vassilis Kaskarelis. It will take place on Sunday, January 23rd, at 4:00 p.m. at the Stathakio Cultural Center. The Center is located at 22-51 29 Street, Astoria, N.Y. 11105. The main speaker will be Dr. Isaac Benmayor.
“With this program, we also honor the Hidden Children of Greece’s Nazi occupation, especially those of Volos, the city which witnessed the second highest percentage of Jewish survival in the country”, the Association’s press release state.
