Research Company Conducts Survey on Greek Products

According to a survey that was conducted on the American market by the Chicago based Kairos Consumers research company for the Panhellenic Exporters Association (PSE), olive oil and feta cheese are the two most recognizable Greek exports to the US. Consumers in the US said Greek products and cuisine have nutritional and healthy ingredients.

When asked which products consumers think of as “Made in Greece”, 60% mentioned feta and 52% noted olive oil, 39% noted olives and wine was at 23%. For the question of what Greek products they would buy if they had the means, Americans said 45% for olive oil, 40 % for olives and 38 % for feta.

PSE head Christina Sakellaridi stated: “We need a strategy for attracting consumers through group promotions in order to access alternative supply networks for Greek products to have a lasting presence there.”
